Shenhua Group is the largest coal enterprise in China and the largest coal energy trader in the world. Shuohuang railway is one of the railways belonging to Shenhua Group. It is an important part of the second largest channel of China's west east coal transportation, and plays an important role in the national coal transportation. The railway starts from Shenchi South Station in Shenchi County, Shanxi Province in the West and ends at Gangqian station in Huanghua port, Hebei Province in the East. It is designed as a national class I trunk line, double track electrified railway with heavy-duty subgrade. The main line has a total length of 594 kilometers, a total of 34 stations and 33 sections

Huawei and Shuohuang Railway and other eight units have worked together to start the research, planning, testing and engineering construction of new broadband mobile communication in railway since 2010, and promote the application and continuous improvement of LTE technology in heavy haul railway. After four years of technical research, four field tests and many laboratory verifications on a 42 km test line, LTE technology has been successfully applied to Shuohuang heavy haul railway
